These are three of the teaser posters for "Pirates of the caribbean: on stranger tides".

All of the teaser posters have a simple design. the first and last posters used images of characters but the first features the main character, because fans of the franchise are familiar with him it will gain interest. The character on the last poster contains a new character, this can also gain interest.

The second poster is the simplest one, it uses the logo of the franchise, as it is well known, to reveal and promote the new film. 

None of the posters contain much information as they are teaser posters.

This is the main poster. It contains much more information than the teaser ones.

The main poster is more complex than the others and shows the director and stars.

The action/ adventure genre is indicated though the exotic background and the props such as guns and swords which indicates violence. Also the clothing shows that this is a period film, this can attract fans of the genre.

Also the main star is featured who is a U.S.P so he can attract an audience as he is a very popular actor.
