Kick-Ass micro

From 01:03 to 01:07

The sequence starts with the crime lord Frank, in his suit that shows he is wealthy and likes class, standing at his window looking out at the city; this shows that he sees it as his city. The camera then cuts to a mid shot showing his room behind him, in the room there are two paintings of red guns, this conotates to the audience that he is a violent man along with his impatient facial expression.  He has his back to the door when it is knocked and when people enter showing that he is respected and is high up in the organisation when the police officer is talking Frank quickly makes him be quiet showing the audience that he has power over the police almost like a metaphor.
The quick cut to a close up of Red Mist’s face shows urgency and panic to the audience.  The big close up on the teddy bears AV plug shows the audience the importance of the bear to clear up any confusion. As the camera slowly move towards the screen mysterious music starts to get the audience interested. Mid shot of the three men show them all sitting forward and their faces seem intrigued this shows us that they are interested. The camera goes back to the TV with static and then continues to move in to the screen until in is in the scene. This is done to stop any confusion within the audience. The camera then pans to show Big Daddy killing. The fact that he is a hero is shown to the audience is shown though his cape and mask which are trademark signs. The jump cuts make it look like Big Daddy is moving fast and he looks more lethal also they get rid of unwanted time wasting and keeps up the flow of the movie as it gets faster. All of the guns and explosive props give the scene a sense of danger so the audience could feel worried for Big Daddy.
The camera retracts though the TV and Back into Frank’s room where the camera moves to show a big close up of Red Mists face to show he is worried. There is a dolly shot moving in on Frank’s face to show his rage to the audience. The camera Cuts to Big Daddy, sharpening a knife, which shows he is combatable with knives and is part of his day-to-day life. The way in which he looks at Mindy when he is told he is being hunted shows the audience that he is worried for her and feels responsible.  As he turns to tell Mindy that it is time for Frank to go “bye bye” the music quickly builds up and hits the highest note as Mindy throws a ninja star at Franks portrait, telling the audience that she will go to kill him and that this is important. Combining the two creates suspense and tension for the audience.
